ABOUT: Hannah is a fifteen-year-old, no-maj-born witch from Maine; born on February 27th to Taiwanese-American parents. Battling for a place to distinguish herself amongst her four siblings, Hannah made sure to pursue as many extra curricular activities as possible; despite her best interests to stay locked away in her room with her sewing machine all day. She started with tennis at the age of six, and by fourth grade her parents were certain this is what she'd be doing with her life. It's not that Hannah didn't enjoy tennis, but she always preferred hobbies and activities that could unleash her creative mind; ones where she could dream away and forget where she really was for hours on end.

But if there's one thing about Hannah that holds her back: it's her fear of displeasing others. She felt as though her parents wouldn't embrace any other ambition she had, and all she wanted was to please them.

You could say that Hannah was used to being the odd one out, even before she discovered her magical ability. She was drawn to stories of folk lore, embraced the idea of the supernatural, and was utterly convinced that ghosts were real. One day an old man at her Grandma's care home told Hannah that wizards were real, and one had saved him from the Japanese during World War II. Although the man was apparently a Dementia patient, Hannah couldn't help but believe him. She believed him more about that than the other stuff that was coming out of his mouth: like people climbing the trees outside that Hannah could not see.

One day, when Hannah was about 8 years old, she and her three friends dared each other to go into a 'haunted house'. Hannah, who believed ghosts were both very real and very terrifying, was very nervous about it all and the others teased her relentlessly for it. She did go inside though. Hannah was always about pleasing others and proving her worth. But they didn't see any ghosts inside there. Well, Hannah's three friends didn't see any ghosts: but Hannah, unaware of being a witch at the time, had seen one. Clear as day. Sort of pearly-white and drifting along on her toes.

It all kicked off from there, really. First was seeing the ghost of the haunted house, then it was misdirecting her opponent's tennis balls into the net; then it was finding her glass of water being magically re-filled during the night when she couldn't face the idea of getting out of bed...

Little by little the truth came to light, and surprisingly her parents were okay with it. They said they realised she wasn't happy at school, and were immensely proud of her. After tearful goodbyes and loving farewells; Hannah attended Ilvermorny Academy in excitement and anticipation. She was sorted into Pukwudgie house, although she didn't really understand what that meant for a while.

As a student, Hannah is eager to please her Professors but can fall victim to her daydreaming. She adapted very well to being a witch, probably more so than she ever did at no-maj schools, and always feels grateful for being at Ilvermorny. She has a lot to learn, both academically and as a person; but her open-mindedness will aid her in her pursuits. Just so long as she isn't held back by that self-doubt and (often) crippling sensitivity.
